We remember daydreaming about opening a salon where our clients could feel at home and form genuine connections. Moxie started in the middle of the pandemic as a cozy sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the DC Metro Area, with an emphasis on client connection and skillful stylists who could deliver beautiful, luxurious hair.
"Sara really listened and she wanted me to come back a week or so later to get a glaze so that I would have it exactly how I wanted it for my high school reunion. Everyone in the salon is very nice and it’s small and intimate which makes it feel like a family. I highly recommend this salon!"

Building
Our building has a pretty neat history. It was once home to Wise's Tavern, where George Washington was first publicly addressed as President on April 16th, 1789. Additionally, he celebrated the ratification of the Constitution here in 1788 and chose Wise's Tavern twice for his birthday celebrations. Talk about a local fav!
